Position Overview:
Manages all aspects of one or more construction projects. Responsible for the full construction project lifecycle, from initial project mobilization phases through completion. Coordinates with vendors, project managers, and on-site teams to ensure alignment on project plans, budgets, and schedules. Tracks progress against timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full construction project lifecycle, from mobilization through completion.

Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on solar or renewable energy projects preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of stormwater controls, solar wire management, and construction best practices.
- OSHA 10 certification or higher.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in managing project schedules and identifying critical path items.

Salary: $38.00 to $40.00/hour depending on experience and certifications.

RunTime Solar, a division of Norwich Technologies, is the Northeast's leading provider of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services for commercial solar PV systems. RunTime Solar specializes in managing commercial, utility, and community-scale solar assets across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. We offer a sought-after, experienced, and certified team to ensure all assets perform at the highest level, providing maximum benefits for our investment in a clean energy future and for the array owners. Our services include optimizing system performance, maximizing energy production, and overseeing smaller commercial solar installations, ensuring seamless transitions from construction to ongoing maintenance. We work with existing PV systems, installed by Norwich Technologies and others, that range in size from 5 kW to 5 MW, including ground- and roof-mounted, commercial, industrial and utility-scale grid-tied systems.
Position Description
Our growing division seeks a Lead Electrician with strong organizational and troubleshooting skills to perform installation, service, and warranty work and O&M duties throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. This position is responsible for on-site installation leadership, troubleshooting, maintenance, documenting, and tracking assignments until completion as well as data analysis using online monitoring platforms. As a Lead Electrician, you'll strengthen the backbone of our O&M team, playing a critical role in fostering a robust apprenticeship program. You'll partner with other master’s on the team to lead our skilled electricians, mentor apprentices and work collaboratively with the Case Manager to deliver exceptional client experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all electrical aspects of O&M activities for commercial solar PV systems.
- Lead and mentor apprentice electricians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for client systems in collaboration with the Case Manager.
- Conduct thorough system inspections, identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, and work with the Case Manager to prioritize and schedule repairs.
- Ensure timely and efficient repairs, minimizing downtime and lost energy production, keeping the Case Manager informed of progress and potential impacts.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on resource allocation, budgeting, and project scheduling, considering the Case Manager input and needs.
- Manage and review subcontractor performance for larger projects, keeping the Case Manager and Project Managers updated on their activities.
- Champion safety within the team, enforcing protocols and fostering a safety-first culture, partnering with the Case Manager to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all O&M activities, accessible to both field teams and the Case Manager.
- Stay current on the latest advancements in solar technology and O&M best practices, sharing knowledge with the team and the Case Manager.
- **Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, including building strong, collaborative relationships with the Case Manager and Project Managers to facilitate smooth communication and client satisfaction.
- Work with management to ensure positive financial performance of project and target margin rates are achieved.
- Help maintain a robust apprenticeship program, including accurate documentation of apprentice hours, performance evaluations, and development plans.
- Review, approve and validate apprentice hours. Provide an affidavit in support of apprentice hours claim if required.
- Partner with training institutions and industry organizations to secure valuable resources and opportunities for apprentices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master Electrician license in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. (or ability to obtain reciprocal licensing)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar PV O&M or commercial electrical installations.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Case Manager and apprentices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively within the O&M team and with Case Manager and apprentices.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Proficient in technical documentation and recordkeeping.
- Understanding of and experience with apprenticeship programs in the electrical trade.
- Self-starter, positive “can do” attitude, determined problem-solving ability
- Able to work both under instruction and in a self-directed manner as needed
- Valid driver's license is required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with commercial solar PV systems and O&M software.
- Ability to work within a CRM, ideally NetSuite, as well as Google Suite
- Certifications in solar inspection or troubleshooting.
- NABCEP or other relevant sustainability certifications.
