Description: Our rapidly growing company seeks an individual with strong organizational and project management skills to assist in the installation of solar projects. The position will play a critical role in ensuring the company successfully delivers our strong pipeline within Northern New England region. Job Summary: Manages construction aspects of projects for the organization.
Job Duties: Work collaboratively on all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery. Coordinates the work activities for multiple functions to ensure satisfying delivery.
Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management. Assists with the selection, negotiation, and managing of all activities regarding external consultants or vendors.
Leads and monitors the construction process, and ensures that projects are completed on time, on budget and according to specifications. Uses engineering and technical knowledge to ensure that components, systems, and equipment meet specifications of the project. Generally responsible to oversee a safe working environment by coordinating vendors and scheduling of construction activities. Provides regular (both written and verbal) communication to senior management on progress and conflicts, provides daily and final inspection of construction sites.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to read blueprints and verify work is performed to specifications.

- Bachelor of Science degree, PMP Certification or relevant experience in renewable industry.

Manager of Safety and Quality Assurance
Job Summary: The detail-oriented Quality Assurance and Safety Inspector is responsible for overseeing that ground mount solar projects are built to Norwich’s and the owner’s standards. The role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the construction and installation of solar energy systems.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:- Conduct comprehensive inspections at various stages of ground mount solar projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to guarantee the reliability and longevity of solar installations.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and guidelines for ground mount solar projects, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality and safety inspections, noting any deviations from standards.
- Completed OSHA 300/ 300A logs for RunTime Solar, Norwich Solar, Norwich EV, and Norwich Technologies.
- Generate comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings, recommendations, and corrective actions taken.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on quality and safety performance.
- Conduct training sessions for on-site personnel regarding quality control processes and safety procedures.
- Stay informed about the latest industry developments and safety regulations to provide relevant training and guidance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or quality deviations to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions based on thorough analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement in quality and safety practices.
- Implement measures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field; Licensed Electrician credential may be substituted for education minimums; relevant certifications in quality assurance and safety are a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in electrical installation, quality assurance and safety inspection within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on solar projects.
- In-depth knowledge of solar project construction processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards, including NEC and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey quality and safety requirements to diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using inspection tools, equipment, and software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Overnight travel is required as part of this position.

Compensation:
- Salary range is mid-career professional, negotiable based on experience.
- Position is considered full time exempt, eligible for participation in annual profit sharing.

Senior Solar Designer
Position Overview:
The Senior Solar Designer will be responsible for the design and development of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) generation systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing fixed tilt ground-mounted systems, including utility interconnection and the design of low and medium voltage electrical systems. The role requires familiarity with general construction standards, the utility interconnection process, the National Electric Code (NEC), and the overall solar design process. The Senior Solar Designer will also play a critical role in site layout development, preparing construction drawings, and managing subcontractor bid packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Utility-Scale Solar PV Systems: Create detailed designs for utility-scale solar photovoltaic generation systems, focusing on fixed tilt ground-mounted configurations.
- Utility Interconnection Design: Design low and medium voltage electrical systems for utility interconnection, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Site Layout Development: Develop preliminary site layouts for project permitting, ensuring that all designs meet regulatory requirements.
- Prepare Construction Drawings: Create "Issued for Construction" (IFC) drawings for use in project execution, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Subcontractor Scope of Work: Develop scope of work documents for subcontractors, including detailed bid packages for subcontractor sourcing.
- Bid Management: Assist in answering Requests for Information (RFI) during the bidding process, evaluate bids, and support the award of subcontracts.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance reviews of design deliverables, ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry standards.
- Performance Validation: Collect and analyze site data to model and compare actual vs predicted generation.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders throughout the design and construction process.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency with solar design software, including PVSyst or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and utility interconnection processes.
- Familiarity with construction standards and permitting requirements.
- Experience with electric vehicle (EV) charging systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- Three (3+) years of experience in designing utility-scale solar PV systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar energy design, and the construction process.
Additional Qualifications:
- Candidate should be a self-starter with foresight and intuition to complete not only the task assigned but strive towards the end goals of the project.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- NABCEP Certifications a plus

Reports To: Director of Engineering
Salary: $70,000 to $ 90,000 depending on experience & qualifications
