The NEV team has been busy across Vermont this year. In 2024 we’ve installed 9 DC fast chargers, and almost a dozen L2 chargers. These projects are a combination of private and public charging stations.
Commercial & Non-profit Projects
NEV is helping businesses and housing property owners provide EV charging for their workers, residents, and charging for their own fleet vehicles as well.
Goss Dodge: Thanks to Parker from our Norwich Solar EPC team who played an important role overseeing the recent build at the Goss Dodge dealership. This was our first commercial DC Fast-Charger (or Level 3) job. Goss Dodge was also notable for being our first EV job to employ directional drilling, which was a cleaner choice than cutting several hundred feet of parking lot. In addition to the Level 3 DCFC, we installed three L2 charging stations for them as well.
Twin Pines Housing Trust, Prospect St: The Riverwalk Community Housing is a recent development built and managed by the Twin Pines Housing Trust. They added 42 new units to White River Junction. We’ve done solar projects for Twin Pines previously, and we were pleased to partner with them again to add two dual-port pedestal mounted L2 EV charging stations equipped with credit card readers and cable retraction.
Public Charging Projects
These Federal ACCD and NEVI grant funded projects are helping to improve public access to EV charging stations, enabling easier travel through our rural state. In each instance, we pitched building these projects in downtown centers rather than locating them right off the interstate. This will benefit local businesses and be a more pleasant charging experience for drivers.
We are excited to announce that we’ve been awarded four more projects to install high speed public chargers through the Federal ACCD and NEVI grants. These chargers will be installed in the downtowns of Rutland, White River Junction (WRJ), Brattleboro and Randolph. Brattleboro and WRJ will each get 8 DCFC Level 3 chargers, Rutland will get 6 chargers, and Randolph will get 4.
Vergennes: This project was completed early this fall and included two dual port () BTC Power 180 kW High Power DC Charger, and One dual port 30A level 2 charger.
Bradford: This project was completed this spring and in April we held a ribbon cutting event with much fanfare.
Waterbury: This project is currently in progress and will include two dual port DCFC Charging Stations and one dual port level 2 charging stations.
